Coach, Teacher Daric Beiter Dies On 37th Birthday

DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. -- The Davie County High School track and cross country coach died suddenly in his sleep Friday on his 37th birthday, principal Jeff Wallace told WXII.

Daric Beiter had been employed at the school since 1999, Wallace said.

In addition to coaching, Beiter also taught history and chaired the school's history department.

Wallace said Beiter was the school's teacher of the year during the 2009-'10 school year.

He was originally from Homer, N.Y.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
