KING, N.C. -- An 11-year-old girl was injured Friday morning while crossing the street to get on her school bus along Meadowbrook Drive, North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said.Troopers said the incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. when the driver of a 1992 Ford car failed to stop for the school bus stop arm.The passing car's mirror clipped the girl, identified as Angel Yates, trooper said. She was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where she was listed in good condition Friday afternoon.The driver of the car, Dorothy Smith, 54, of King, is facing charges of passing a stopped school bus, troopers said.Smith told troopers she was on her way to work.School system officials said Yates is a student at Grove Middle School.Smith is employed as a teaching assistant with the school system, officials said.
