Deputies Probe Similar Robberies At Other Businesses

Controlling the temperature inside a Rockingham County nightclub got more difficult last week.Deputies said a man swiped the business's commercial heat and air conditioning unit valued at $3,200.The robbery at Lera’s Baile Mexicano was reported on March 24.Deputies said they arrested Jeff Orme Thomas Jr., 45, of Eden, and impounded his Ford F-140 pickup that they said he used to steal the unit.He's been charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen goods and was being held in the Rockingham County Jail with bail set at $30,000.Deputies said they are investigating similar robberies of commercial HVAC units at other Rockingham County businesses.
