The 2010 Stokes County Fiddlers Convention was held Fri. and Sat, Oct. 1-2, at Jomeokee Campground in Pinnacle. Approximately 300 people attended both days, with 90 entries.

“It was wonderful to see so many non-Stokes residents attend the event this year, as every county in the Piedmont Triad and Southern Virginia was represented,” noted Eddy McGee, executive director of the Stokes County Arts Council which sponsored the event.

McGee continued that the biggest surprise for him was the number of contestants from the Durham area. He also commented, “Most of the best music came from the campground after the competition.”

Local businesses chipped in to help make the event a success, while the SCAC and Foothills Hayride Committee worked tirelessly to make sure things ran smoothly.
