Chantilly - Oct 9 - War of 1812 Muster - At Sully’s 1812 muster you can drill with troops, watch the cannon firing and learn the role of horses in military and civilian life. Richmond - Oct 16 - Bus Tour: Civil War Sampler - A comprehensive look at the unique role Richmond played as the Capital of the Confederacy. Includes Church Hill, Shockoe Bottom, Court End, the canal area, Hollywood Cemetery and Monument Avenue, with stops at Tredegar Iron Works and the battlefields at Gaines Mill and Cold Harbor. Yorktown Victory Celebration Middletown - Oct 16-17 - Civil War Commemoration & Living History Weekend - A pivotal moment in the history of both Belle Grove and our nation is commemorated this year on the 146th anniversary of the Battle of Belle Grove or Cedar Creek. Tour Belle Grove’s Manor House and witness an encampment of Confederate and Union soldier re-enactors on the lawn who demonstrate camp life and tell stories of the 1864 Civil War battle that swirled around Belle Grove.
Williamsburg - Oct 16-17 - Yorktown Victory Celebration - Revolutionary War military and artillery demonstrations and special interpretive programs at the Yorktown Victory Center mark the anniversary of America's momentous victory at Yorktown on October 19, 1781. Special weekend programs also held at Yorktown Battlefield, administered by the National Park Service. Townwide events on Yorktown Day, October 19, include a parade and patriotic ceremonies.
Petersburg - Oct 16-18 - 14th Annual Symposium - Spend a weekend at Pamplin Historical Park interacting with seven experts in Civil War history. Reservations required.
Manassas - Oct 17 - Building Earthworks: Civil War Forts in Manassas - National Park Service earthworks expert, David Lowe, visits the Manassas Museum in anticipation of the Museum’s finishing interpretive work at Canon Branch Fort to discuss the important construction techniques for Civil War earthwork forts.
Yorktown - Oct 19 - Yorktown Day - Patriotic ceremonies, a parade, fifes and drums performances, and tactical demonstrations by the Commander-in-Chief's Guard commemorate the 229th anniversary of America's momentous Revolutionary War victory at Yorktown. Free.

Chantilly - Nov 6 - Colonial Day at Sully - Discover life at Sully before Richard Bland Lee made it his home in 1794. American and British soldiers show battle tactics from 225 years ago. Learn the process of growing tobacco. Help with the labor performed by the enslaved African Americans in the fields. Watch demonstrations of colonial skills.
Walkerton - Nov 6-7 - Civil War Reenactment at Locust Grove - Travel back to 1864 and meet Generals Lee & Grant on the historical Locust Grove Farm in Walkerton, VA as their men prepare for battle. See Artillery, Infantry, and Cavalry demonstrations. Learn what life was like at that time from reenactors as you stroll or ride a horse & carriage through the woods to their encampments.
Richmond - Nov 6, 13, 20, 27 - Highlights of Hollywood Cemetery Walking Tour - Learn about the cemetery’s history, artwork, symbolism and famous residents, including two U.S. Presidents, writer Ellen Glasgow, Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Generals George Pickett and J.E.B. Stuart. Meet your guide at the rear of the stone structure on the left at the cemetery entrance, Cherry and Albemarle streets.
