The winner of The Stokes News Cutest Pet Contest is Macushla (Irish for “my darling”). She is Johanna Brown's cat. Macushla is a very prissy cat (she's from Charlotte, a city cat). She likes chasing flies that get in the house in her free time. She will also chase deer and big dogs out of her yard, yet she is scared of mice.
Macushla is on Facebook. She ran a very aggressive campaign on Facebook while running in the Cutest Pet Contest, with promises such as these in her Facebook postings, encouraging her friends to vote for her:
"Thank you for your vote! Once I'm elected, I will not raise your taxes, I will balance the budget, I will protect Social Security, I will protect our borders, I will end the recession and I will make sure my administration follows the highest ethical standards!"
She hasn't come through on any of these promises yet.
Macushla’s owner Johanna is seven and is in Mrs. Chilton's first grade class at Walnut Cove Elementary. She likes reading, Justin Beiber and her two cats (Putter is her other cat's name). She is the daughter of Troy and Renea. She has two older [half] brothers, Dan and Nathan Clutts (19 and 17 years old).
Since Johanna doesn't need any new tires on her bicycle or electric scooter at this time, she is going to let her brother Nathan use her gift certificate so he can get some tires for his car.
