Woman Called In Fake Prescription, Deputies Say
Suspect Facing Fraud Charge

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- A woman was arrested Monday on charges of trying to obtain a controlled substance by calling in a fake prescription, Davidson County deputies said.Marci Brooks Carpenter, 33, of Winston-Salem, called the prescription in to the Walgreens on NC Highway 150, deputies said.Carpenter was charged with attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud, deputies said.She is currently being held in the Davidson County Jail with bail set at $5,000.Carpenter is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 8.
